    AIRWAY HEIGHTS — A local man awaits sentencing on charges of third-degree rape of a child and second-degree child molestation at the Spokane County jail without the option of bond, according to court documents. Mardy A.A. Moreno, man 31, is currently awaiting sentencing on April 19, 2023, for crimes that occurred over several years in Airway Heights, according to a press release issued by the Airway Heights police department.     SPOKANE — A former resident who had previously been arrested several times for violating orders of protection was arrested in Spokane on March 21 on charges of child rape and molestation, possession of explicit depictions of a minor, and second-degree assault. Morey, man 46, is currently in the Spokane County jail on a total bond of $100,000, and is scheduled to appear in court for arraignment on April 4.     CHENEY — The school district will receive just under $100,000 as a part of the federal settlement with Juul Labs, Inc., according to the minutes of the March 8 School Board meeting. Cheney School District is one of 1,600 districts around the United States which will receive settlement money from the federal government.
