    CHENEY – The City Council has renewed its contract with DIVCO of Spokane to maintain heating and cooling systems in city buildings. The new contract shows a 2.21% increase from last year’s rates, but the city expected to see a higher jump than that. The total contract price is $25,233 annually, and the company will maintain six city owned buildings.     CHENEY – The Police Department recognized two employees last week. Anthony Christianson was named Officer of the Year. And James Huntsman was named Dispatcher of the Year. Christianson couldn’t be reached for comment prior to deadline.     CHENEY – Now that holidays are over, many residents are wondering what to do with their Christmas Tree. Airway Heights, Cheney and Medical Lake officials have offered a few tips on how to dispose of Christmas trees. In Cheney, city officials said residents can have their trees removed on their regular garbage pickup day. But they will have to pay for it.
