Cities offer tree disposal advice

It may cost to have trees removed

CHENEY – Now that holidays are over, many residents are wondering what to do with their Christmas Tree.

Airway Heights, Cheney and Medical Lake officials have offered a few tips on how to dispose of Christmas trees.

In Cheney, city officials said residents can have their trees removed on their regular garbage pickup day. But they will have to pay for it.

If a tree is less than 6-foot long, officials recommend cutting it in half.

If it is more than 6 feet long, the city advises cutting it into thirds.

The tree should be left next to the garbage can on trash pick up day, official said.
