    CHENEY -- As of 8:27 p.m. July 6, State Patrol officials say they have gained a more accurate assessment of the amount of acreage burning in the Andrus Road Fire, which has been upgraded to 20% containment as of Tuesday evening. The fire has burned approximately 225 acres.     CHENEY -- The fire that broke out yesterday morning, July 5, along Andrus Road east of Four Lakes has grown to 300 acres and is at zero containment, the Washington State Patrol said in a Tuesday, July 6 update.     FOUR LAKES -- Crews are on the scene of a wildland fire burning northeast of Cheney. According to the Department of Natural Resources fire information map, the blaze has burned roughly 30 acres of land located just north of Needham Hill between Four Lakes on the west and South Andrus Road on the east.     AIRWAY HEIGHTS – The city council held an emergency meeting at 5 p.m. on July 2 to discuss an ordinance regarding fireworks. The ordinance was adopted after the council voted to suspend the rules that would require multiple readings. Five council members voted to adopt it while councilman Larry Bowman abstained. The ordinance would allow the fire chief to enact a temporary ban on fireworks in conditions of extreme fire danger.     CHENEY – Firefighters extinguished a brush fire that started at the intersection of North 6th Street and Simpson-Parkway on July 1. The fire was called in at 4:07 p.m., and by 5:45 p.m. it was under control and the fire district is confident it will not spread beyond the acre and a half it had already reached.
