    CHENEY — The City Council took steps at their June 8 meeting to resume holding its regular meetings in-person. Like all other legislative bodies, Cheney’s City Council has been holding its twice-monthly meetings remotely via Zoom due to Gov. Jay Inslee’s March, 2020 declaration of a state of emergency due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Council unanimously agreed to an increase of $12,050 to a small contract with 5 Star Concrete for additional sidewalk repairs at various locations around the city.     SPOKANE — Approximately Avista electric customers in Rosalia, Malden, Pine City and the surrounding area will experience a planned power outage on Thursday, June 24. The planned outage will begin at 10 p.m. and end at 6 a.m. on Friday, June 25. No road closures are expected during this outage.     MEDICAL LAKE — A local man was arrested after a fiery crash on State Route 902 last Friday night. According to the Washington State Patrol, 28-year-old Dustin Williams of Medical Lake was on SR 902 five miles west of Medical Lake at approximately 9:48 p.m. when he lost control of his vehicle near Wolf Road.
