Small business workshops, online training resources boost know-how

SPOKANE — When local businesses thrive, the whole community thrives. That’s why Spokane County Library District is offering workshops, resources and services dedicated to businesses, entrepreneurs, and their employees.

This summer, sign up for online workshops presented live by SCORE Business mentors. Each month, the workshop offers actionable insights to strengthen and grow business. Sign up for one or all of the following workshops this summer at www.scld.org/score-workshops.

Security Strategies for Small Businesses – For adults only. Online, Thursday, July 15, 12–1:30 p.m.

Create a Brand for Your Business – For adults only. Online, Thursday, Aug. 19, 12–1:30 p.m.

Online training resources are also available to increase business knowledge, increase productivity and learn new marketable skills. Gale Presents: Udemy is our latest digital resource offering thousands of online video courses that are on-demand and flexible to fit into any busy schedule.

LinkedIn Learning (formerly Lynda.com) is a video learning platform with on-demand courses for business, creativity, and technology. Gale Courses has highly interactive, instructor-led online courses that run for six weeks and offer a structured learning environment with new sessions beginning every month.

Other digital tools from the Digital Library can help businesses hit their next target, such as ABI/INFORM Trade & Industry, Data Axle Reference Solutions (formerly ReferenceUSA), Gale Business: DemographicsNow, and ProQuest Research Library.
