    MEDICAL LAKE – Cardinal athletes showed great success in their first home meet on April 13, with both the boys and girls teams outscoring Riverside and Deer Park. Coach Gene Blankenship said the wins put both teams at 2-0 in league play and unofficially in first place. The boys beat Riverside 73.33 to 44.66 and also topped Deer Park 88 to 43.     AIRWAY HEIGHTS – As cities in the West Plains continue to grow, city leaders of Airway Heights continue to look at rebranding options to implement a new website, logo and overall look in general.     MEDICAL LAKE – The city may have to make changes to its overall water plan. That concern was among several issued discussed Oct. 5. City Administrator Doug Ross said the city purchases a large portion of the water from the state, and the state recently doubled the cost. The budget may be affected, according to Ross, as the price per thousand gallons jumped from 56 cents to $1.12.     MEDICAL LAKE – The Cardinal Varsity cross country team are both undefeated in league events after the girls and boys teams both beat Freeman in Medical Lake on October 6 said coach Gene Blankenship.     CHENEY – College football fans were treated to a rivalry matchup on Oct. 2 when the Eastern Washington Eagles came from behind to top the visiting Montana Grizzlies late in the game, 34-28.
