Despite miserable weather the Cheney boys' tennis team still found ways to post their first wins of the season. The Blackhawks downed Deer Park on Tuesday, 5-2, then turned around to shut out Riverside 7-0 on Thursday, both matches on the road.
Like their soccer counterparts the Stags are benefiting from a couple of foreign exchange students in singles. Cheney's David Denney showed improved serving but couldn't work deuce games to his advantage in losing 2-6, 2-6 to Alejandro Canseco, an exchange student from Mexico, at No. 1.
