    MEDICAL LAKE – Farmer's markets across the region are in full swing, and the same can be said for the Medical Lake Farmer's Market. In its second year of operation, the market is still new.     Level three evacuations initially put in place for the Rustle Fire have been downgraded to level one Aug. 3 at 5:30 p.m. according to Spokane County Emergency Management. Level two evacuation zone were lifted at that time. The fire erupted in the early afternoon causing the entire area to be evacuated. Multiple road closures were also put in place during the blaze.     SPOKANE VALLEY – Jessica Yaeger was sitting in first place after the initial tally of ballots returned in the Aug. 1 primary election for City Council Position No. 2. As of Tuesday night, Yaeger had 5,788 votes, 51.85%. She was ahead of Rachel Briscoe with 2,897 votes, 25.95%, and Adam Smith with 2,374 votes, 21.26%.     LIBERTY LAKE — One candidate has more than doubled all of his opponents in his bid for City Council Position No. 3. At the end of the first day of ballot counting Tuesday night, Aug. 1, Dan Dunne had 1,450 votes, 70.84%.     SPOKANE VALLEY – After the first day of counting ballots in the Aug. 1 primary election, a local woman tops the race for the West Valley School District Director No. 3 position.     SPOKANE VALLEY – Rick Freier leads the race for Spokane Valley Fire Commission Position No. 5 after the first day of ballot counting Tuesday, Aug. 1.     SPOKANE VALLEY - On July 31, 2023, at approximately 10:20 am, a Spokane Valley motorcycle deputy was conducting traffic enforcement on Appleway Ave. near Park Road.     SPOKANE VALLEY – Giving Back Spokane is a group that works to help the less fortunate in the Spokane area. On July 29 they held a car wash fundraiser in the Umpqua Bank parking lot at 507 N.
