FFA plans Bingo Night

CHENEY — The Cheney High School FFA club is gearing up for an evening of entertainment and community engagement as they host Bingo Night on Thursday, April 25. The 5 p.m. event aims to bring together students, families and community members for a fun-filled evening while supporting the club.

Senior FFA membes Grace Klinkenberg, 18, and Lincoln Miller, 17, spoke about the efforts that have gone into making it a success.

“We recently started an alumni group, to help donate to FFA,” Klinkenberg said. The idea stemmed from discussions about fund-raising.

“It slowly turned into a bigger idea that we decided we wanted to do,” added Miller, highlighting the organic evolution of the event.

Preparations for Bingo Night have been extensive, requiring coordination with businesses and community members.

“We have to call a bunch of small businesses, so we can have enough prizes,” Klinkenberg said.

“We also called businesses in Airway Heights,” Miller added.

Attendees can look forward to a variety of activities and prizes at the event, including bingo and a silent auction.

“We have a mini excavator for the weekend, and a bobcat for the weekend,” shared Miller enthusiastically, detailing some of the exciting prizes up for grabs.

Klinkenberg added that there are also a number of gift cards.

Proceeds from Bingo Night will support the FFA club’s activities, including travel for competitions, accommodation expenses and seeding of future fundraisers.

“They will go into our FFA fund, help us travel for competitions, pay for hotels, and help start other fundraisers,” Klinkenberg said..

Despite the challenges posed by time management and communication, the organizers are optimistic about the event’s success.

“Hopefully, they look forward to coming back next year,” expressed Klinkenberg, reflecting on their hopes for attendee satisfaction.

Miller added, “We want to expand the event, maybe turn it into a bingo dinner.”

With an inclusive invitation extended to all, Klinkenberg affirmed, “anybody and everybody” is welcome to attend Bingo Night.
