Man arrested for possessing fentanyl

AIRWAY HEIGHTS – In the early hours of Feb. 18, Johnny Kevin Kieffer, 30, found himself in handcuffs, facing charges of possession with intent to distribute, following a swift arrest by local law enforcement.

The events unfolded during a routine patrol at the All Seasons Motel, where police officer Bryant Baker noticed a vehicle sporting a broken window, records show. Running the license plate number revealed the car as stolen.

In the course of canvassing the motel’s rooms for leads, the officer chanced upon drug paraphernalia within one of the units, records show. What seemed like a routine inquiry swiftly escalated when the officer discovered a man with an outstanding felony warrant for narcotics possession.

The subsequent investigation led Baker to secure a search warrant, resulting in the seizure of a substantial cache of contraband: over 95 fentanyl pills, alongside drug paraphernalia and a firearm, records show.

Kieffer, already on law enforcement’s radar due to an outstanding federal arrest warrant, now faces an additional charge of possession with intent to deliver, records show.

He was transported and booked into Spokane County Jail.

As of press time, Kieffer remained in jail on $15,000 bail and a U.S. Marshal’s Office hold.
