Fraser named Sprague Citizen of the Year

Chamber installs new 2024 officers

SPRAGUE-The local Chamber of Commerce awarded local man John Fraser the title of 2023 Citizen of the Year at the Chamber's Annual Meeting Monday, Jan. 15.

Fraser's community service accolades are expansive. He spends several days per week picking up food donated to Feed Sprague and Manna Monday Meals, has occasionally volunteered to cook for Manna Mondays, picks up donated clothes and Meals on Wheels for community members in Sprague and Lamont and hauls refuse to Gina Habbestad for the county Pet Rescue.

He has also assisted with the local food bank, donated books to the local library and helped the Chamber's efforts at the local Community Hall.

Other nominees included Habbestad, Shawn Coombs Dave Davisson Dave Kanzler and Becky Kanzler.

Also at the Annual Meeting, new officers and board members were installed.

The officers include President Candy Knowles Day, vice president Jill Sheffels, secretary Keola Gomes and treasurer Diane Gomes. Board members include Davisson, Pat Busby, Chris Day, Jan Pantoja and Tim Wilken.

The evening also included a silent and live auction raising funds for the Chamber of Commerce, fire department, food bank, library, Little League, Lincoln County Lost and Found Pet Rescue and Norman's World Animal Sanctuary.
