String of burglaries hits McDonald's locations in Spokane Valley

SPOKANE VALLEY – McDonald’s restaurants in here and Geiger Heights were victims in a series of burglaries.

Spokane County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded promptly to four separate incidents, all involving the theft of donation money intended for Ronald McDonald House charities.

The method of entry was consistent across all four locations, with the perpetrator breaking window and door glass to gain access. The primary target in each case was the Ronald McDonald House donation boxes, from which the stolen money was subsequently taken. While the description of the suspect was notably similar at each location, law enforcement is currently uncertain whether the same individual committed all four crimes.

The suspect is described as male, possibly white, with a thin to average build, clad entirely in black. The attire included a beanie, face mask, hoodie, gloves, pants, shoes, and a black backpack featuring a distinctive large red “Air Jordan” logo.

Here is a breakdown of the incidents:

Spokane Valley

McDonald’s, 10516 E. Sprague Ave. — Deputies responded to a burglary call at 3:22 am, where a drive-thru window and an adjacent window were shattered.
