6 council members sworn in

LIBERTY LAKE – Six city council members out of seven were sworn in on Tuesday, January 2 in Liberty Lake.

County District Judge Richard Leland conducted the oaths of office for the winners of last November’s Liberty Lake City Council and mayor races shortly after the start of the council’s first 2024 meeting.

Linda Ball, who has many years of experience working for local and city governments from Anchorage to Seattle, was appointed to City Council Position 1.

Dan Dunne, who joined the Liberty Lake City Council in 2012, was reappointed as the City Council Position 3 member.

Jed Spencer, who was originally appointed to the position 4 seat in 2022, was reappointed to that seat.

Annie Kurtz, who has a 20 year long track record serving in city, county and state government, was sworn in as the City Council Position 5 member.

Mike Kennedy, who was elected to the council in 2017 but stepped down in 2022, was reappointed to City Council Position 6.

Wendy Van Orman, appointed to City Council Position 7, previously served in the City Council as position 1 from 2001-2007, and served as mayor between 2008-2011.
