Write to the Point
My children are grown and are no longer in school, but all went through Cheney Public Schools. I no longer work for the school district, but did so for 23 years.
Those are the very reasons I am asking you to vote on an upcoming ballot. The current students and staff need your vote to ensure programs that reach into the future.
This vote is not for a new levy. It replaces the levy that expires in 2024.
The levy provides consistency in programs such as music, art and athletics and staffing, such as nurses and counselors. Our kids need and deserve these services and the consistency that they provide.
There is an additional replacement levy for technology which is also vital as our students and district move forward into the future.
In addition to the replacement levies you also have the opportunity to vote for a bond to build an another much needed elementary school for our constantly growing school district. While some districts might be declining in size, that is not the case with Cheney Public Schools. We are strong and growing, but need the space to accommodate that growth.
I hope you will join me in voting YES for kids by Feb 13.
