Cheney wrestlers medal at ML Scramble

CHENEY - Cheney wrestling's first match was a short road trip to compete in the Medical Lake Scramble, Dec. 2.

The Blackhawks finished in seventh place with 97 points behind champion Lewis and Clark taking home the team title with 160. 

Sixteen wrestlers competed for the Blackhawks and four finished in the medal rounds. They included Aiden Carr second at 120 pounds and Chazz Gray at 285, both earning runner-up finishes. Wyatt Wells at 175 was third while Mason Bridges was fourth at 165 pounds.

"We executed the fundamentals well today, but we are going back to the practice room to fine tune our skills" head coach Brian Skaff wrote in an email.

The Blackhawks were home Dec. 6 against Ridgeline. "We are looking forward to putting our varsity line up on the mat and competing on Wednesday."

Saturday, Dec. 9 Cheney will be at West Valley High School for a dual tournament starting at 9 a.m.
