Deputies locate hunter

CHENEY – In a successful search and rescue operation, deputies from the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office located a lost hunter on the Columbia Plateau Trail southwest of Cheney.

The incident unfolded on November 14, 2023, around 5:20 pm, when deputies responded to a report of a lost hunter on the popular trail.

The adult man had been walking for eight hours, finding himself disoriented in the darkness and fog, unsure of which direction to take.
