West Valley blanks Port Angeles

SPOKANE VALLEY – The powerhouse Eagles hosted the Port Angeles Roughriders on Nov. 7, and shut them out 8-0, easily winning the contest.

West Valley, the number one seed in the 2A tournament wasted no time shutting down the offensive effort of Port Angeles.

The first point came off the foot of Lauren Matthew who scored at the 12-minute mark. She would add another goal before the first half was over, and by halftime the score was 3-0 Eagles.

Sophomore forward Jenna Howe also scored twice in the matchup.

Haylee Kelly scored a pair of goals in the second half to solidify the victory.

The Eagle defense was so dominant, Goalkeeper Aubrey Lobdell only had to make two saves during the game.

The Eagles, with a record of 19-0 will host the next round on Saturday, Nov. 11 at 12:00 p.m. at central Valley High School for a Veteran's Day playoff match up.
