General Election results
City Council Position No. 2:
Following the first day of ballot counting in the November 7th election, Vincent Barthels has taken the lead in the contest for the City Council No. 2 position.
Barthels logged 523 votes, 55.64% ahead of Rebecca Long who is at 43.3%.
Vincent Barthels was unavailable to comment on Tuesday night.
Rebecca Long expressed optimism, saying, “I feel like we still have a fighting chance. We’ve received only 900 votes so far, and there’s more to come.”
City Council Position No. 6:
Jacquelyn Belock has topped the race for City Council Position No. 6.
Belock secured 567 votes, achieving a lead over Pete Montague, who had 344 votes with a winning percentage of 62.24%.
Sharing her excitement about the results, Jacquelyn Belock said, “I am excited, I’m pretty happy, we put in a lot of hard work and it looks like it’s paying off.”
Pete Montague, however, could not be reached for comment on Tuesday night.
In Spokane County, 955 out of the 6257 ballots mailed to registered voters within the Position No. 2 and No. 6 district have been tallied.
Initial turnout is 15.26%.
The results will be officially certified on November 28
