For the most part, cross country success comes when seven athletes’ skills mesh with the right coaching and follow race strategy.
It’s one of those rare competitions, like golf, where low score wins. And since 2010 here on the West Plains, distance running at Medical Lake High School has been the focal point of sports success come fall.
On Friday, Oct. 27 the the Cardinals made it 12 consecutive seasons qualifying a team to the upcoming WIAA state championships in Pasco, the most recent edition being this Saturday, Nov. 4 on Sun Willows Golf Course.
