Ridgeline overpowers Titans, 55-7

Win big on homecoming night

LIBERTY LAKE – The Ridgeline Falcons found themselves flying into the record books on Oct. 13, as they set a new program record for points scored in a game during the 55-7 onslaught they brought against the Titans of University High School.

Granted, the school is new so the program is very young, but the record is set nonetheless.

They will move into a playoff spot with the win, and have seemingly overwhelmed other district teams like Central Valley and University.

Some early turnovers had this game in question at first as Landon Garner threw an interception early in the game, but the Falcon defense answered right back with an interception as well.

Ridgeline scored 35 unanswered points, taking a 35-7 lead into halftime.

Brayden Allen scored the first Falcon points, as he caught a nice touch pass from Garner.

Attempting a trick play during the kickoff, the Titans fumbled the return while attempting a reverse. This gave the Falcons the ball at the five yard line and they immediately capitalized with a rushing touchdown.

The Titans were able to put a touchdown on the scoreboard with a hail mary just before halftime, but it was all Ridgeline from that point.

This matchup followed another strong win for the Falcons as they demolished the Cheney Blackhawks the week before.

Garner has thrown for a total of 10 touchdown passes in those last two matchups.

The Falcons were carrying some extra motivation into the game this year, because last season they put up an early lead against the Titans to drop it in the second half.

The story was completely different this year as Ridgeline dominated both sides of the ball.

Defensively, the Falcons were unrelenting and kept the Titan quarterback on his heels, and not giving him time to survey the field.

The offense played well in both the running and passing game, and according to the coach this win was an emotional one.
