Cheney drops GSL opener

Mount Spokane got two first half goals from Lily Romey in the 35th and 38th minutes to lead the Wildcats over Cheney in the Greater Spokane League soccer opener Sept. 18.

Ellerie O’Regan got Cheney on the board with a goal assisted by Paige Evans in the 73rd minute. Clara Browne had 12 saves for the Blackhawks who were outshot 15-9.

Earlier in the week Cheney scored a 6-0 non-league win over 2A Shadle Park as six different Blackhawks scored.

Alex Miller (4th minute), Paige Evans (14th minute) and Grace Grumbly (36th minute) gave Cheney a 3-0 halftime lead. Kayelee...
