City faces hurdles in recovery

Debris cleanup is one of the biggest issues fire victims are still facing.

MEDICAL LAKE – Several factors still weigh heavy on the community and property owners that lost their homes in the Gray Fire.

During the special council session held on Aug. 29, City Administrator Sonny Weathers said there is a long road ahead for the community.

"I just want to give you some ideas, the next steps of what the city faces as we continue to turn the page from reaction to recovery," Weathers said. "Which is a step we are excited to take."
