Jarms Hardware to remodel

CHENEY — Jarms Ace Hardware, located at 6 Cheney Spokane Road, will begin remodeling the entryway to the store in early September, 2023, according to the store manager.

The city gave final approval on the permit application for this project and it will be the first in a series of remodeling projects for the local hardware store.

“We’re starting this fall with the entryway facelift,” Aaron Ducharme, store manager, said.

“We’re in the process of getting bids for the rest of the project. Down the road, in the next year or two we plan to expand the whole store. Engineers have already submitted blueprints for that project,” Ducharme said.

Us By The Moon to open in Cheney

CHENEY — The first physical location of children’s boutique and toy store Us By The Moon will open on July 15 at 502 First St.

“We moved to Cheney a year ago, and we thought this would be a great fit. We love Cheney; Alyssa’s family is from here and we’ve become close with the community,” Silas Britton, husband to owner Alyssa Britton, said.

The shop specializes in children’s clothing, such as bows, dresses, and whole outfits. Ollie Ella, a clothier, is not carried by any other shop in eastern Washington, according to Britton.

“During the grand opening, we will be doing free gifts with every purchase while supplies last,” Britton said.

New Wake Up Call opens in Airway

AIRWAY HEIGHTS — A new location for the local Wake Up Call franchise has opened at 9011 U.S. Route 2.

This is the thirteenth brick-and-mortar location for the company, not including a mobile café and a smaller snack stand.

Wake Up Call began in Spokane off of Dishman-Mica Road in 2004 and has since spread as far east as Idaho.
