Cheney High School emerged at the end of school as a state champion for 2022-23.

Nope, not specifically in sports but the student body as a whole emerged as the 3A Scholastic Cup Champions. It’s an award that measures academics and athletics throughout the entire school year, culminating in the statewide selection of the school that has risen to the top across all categories.

According to a news release from athletics director Tim Kennedy, this award looks at the whole school.
