Cheney's Jamel Chabot is in a race with the ball to home plate May 1 at North Central in the Blackhawks' final regular season Greater Spokane League baseball game at Ryne Sandberg Field. Chabot beat the throw and successfully completed a third inning inside-the-park home run giving the Blackhawks a 1-0 lead. Cheney would eventually win 16-1 as the Blackhawks scored 13 runs in the top of the sixth inning to blow things open. Cheney won its final six games to finish 14-6 overall and travels to Walla Walla on May 6 for an opening-round playoff game.
