The Cheney boys got an offensive jolt with the return of Gentz Hilburn to the line-up, and the usual contribution from Jakeb Vallance as the Blackhawks defeated Rogers Jan. 30 in the "Railroad Rumble" Spirit Game, 61-48 at Spokane Arena.

Both Vallance and Hilburn -the latter back playing after an extended absence - each scored 17 points as the Blackhawks ended an eight-game losing streak. Cheney improved to 6-12 overall after winning the non-league match-up with the Greater Spokane League 2A foe Pirates (9-7).
