Emmanuel Lutheran Church

December 29, 2022

All are welcome to worship us this Saturday at 10:30 a.m. as we gather for the last time as the people of Emmanuel. During the service, we will give thanks for the ministry that has happened in our congregation, and for the people who have been fed and nourished in Christian faith. Even as we mark the end of an era in this church, we acknowledge how we all are participants in God’s mission that will continue for all eternity. As we close our doors we will: Go in peace and serve the Lord. Thanks be to God, Alleluia!

Emmanuel thanks the Cheney community for their participation during our services and events throughout the years.

A special thank you to St Paul’s Episcopal Church for adopting and relocating the Free Community Pantry to their location at 636 C St. and to continue the gift of food to the community.

Congregational Church

Join us on Sunday morning as we ring in the New Year together at 10am. We’ll have a chance to reflect back on 2022 and look ahead to 2023. Food and drinks will be available after the service. We hope to see you there!

We are a community of neighbors who seek and serve Jesus and who strive to create a place where anyone, regardless of their sexuality, gender expression or race can find community and feel welcomed. We hold as a permanent conviction that each person is treasured in the eyes of God. We welcome and stand with all who gather into the safety and fellowship of our community. No matter where you are on your journey through life, you are welcome here!

We welcome you to join us on Sunday mornings for in-person worship at 10am and fellowship time afterwards. Kids have their own “Discovery Team Time” during our services.

Cheney Congregational Church has started a free pantry just outside the front doors of the church. Please feel free to take or leave food for yourself and others.

We are also involved with Feed Cheney for a free meal and grocery distribution which will be on Monday, January 30th at 5:30 at the Wren Pierson building in Cheney located at 615 4th st. No documentation or demonstration of need required.

If you’d like to learn more or contact us, visit our website, www.cheneycongregational.org. Have a great week!

United Methodist Church

Join us in worship at the United Methodist Church at 4:30 on New Year’s Eve as we reflect on the year, remember those who have passed this year and celebrate Holy Communion. Following this service there will be a soup potluck and games for the whole family.

There will be no worship service on New Year’s Day. Our usual worship schedule will resume on January 8. Blessings in the New Year from Cheney UMC.
