Pac 8 hockey tournament headed to Cheney

CHENEY, Wash. – The Pacific 8 Hockey Conference along with Eastern Washington University Eagles Hockey are excited to announce that the EWU URC has been selected as the host site for the 2023 PAC 8 Conference Championship Tournament.

The tournament, previously held in Lake Tahoe, will take place February 9-12, 2023 with eight teams competing for the coveted conference championship. A tournament win also includes an automatic bid to the ACHA West Regional, hosted by University of Utah in Salt Lake City.

“This has been a goal of ours since we joined the conference in 2018,” said Travis Allen, EWU URC Operations Manager and Eagles Hockey General Manager. “It’s an honor to be selected as the host site and we appreciate the recognition that this shows to our incredible staff.”

According to its website, the league was founded in 1995 as the Pacific 8 Intercollegiate Hockey Conference (PAC-8) and competes in Division II of the American Collegiate Hockey Association.

The PAC-8 is made up of non-varsity teams from most of the universities of the NCAA’s Pac-12 Conference. League members include Arizona State, Cal Berkeley, UCLA, USC, Oregon, Stanford, Utah, Washington, Washington State as well as Eastern Washington, San Diego State University San Jose State, California San Diego and Western Washington University.

Tickets will be available starting at 10 a.m. December 30 at EWUACHA.com. Single game tickets are just $10 and weekend passes will be available for $35. Tournament merchandise will be available beginning in January at EaglesHockeyBoosters.com.
