Eastern Washington quarterback Gunner Talkington has been named the Big Sky Conference Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Eagles to a 36-29 non-conference football win over Tennessee State Sept. 3 at Roos Field.
A sixth-year senior, Talkington, made his second career start and threw for 348 yards and led the team with 60 rushing yards. Talkington completed 29 of his 46 pass attempts, was sacked only once and did not throw an interception.
With the game tied 29-2 9 with just under seven minutes to go, Talkington orchestrated an 11-play, 75-yard drive that took 3:53 off the clock...
