Jewel Viola (Hall) Gilliam

Jewel Viola (Hall) Gilliam born July 17, 1949 in Torrance, Calif. passed away on Feb. 24, 2022 after a brief illness caused by Non-Covid complications from pneumonia.  The daughter of Montie & Viola Hall, she is survived by her loving husband Craig and sons Nathan Eric Hall and Joshua Michael Hall as well as her brother and sister-in-law Montie and Paula Hall, grandchildren Sean, Emily, Rain & Chad and various nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings Penny & Sharon.

Jewel spent many years working for the San Diego Sheriff's office before moving to Cheney where she spent 30 wonderful years married to her best friend Craig.  She was part of the single parent program at EWU and an office assistant in Central Stores for 10 years.

Jewel loved to travel and she & Craig spent several years on the road between Tucson Ariz. and the Oregon Coast until they settled in Waldport Ore.  Her favorite pastime was to pick up lunch at McDonalds in Newport and drive to the South Jetty where she and Craig would spend hours watching the whales and sea lions.

Jewel loved her husband and her sons immensely.  She was full of love and laughter and brought light and happiness to everyone she met.  She will be incredibly missed by all.

A celebration of life will be held at the home of Montie and Paula Hall at noon on Sunday, July 17, 2002.
