Cheney emergency personnel blocked off a portion of Presley Drive after a reported gas leak.
CHENEY- A gas leak on Tuesday morning near Salnave Elementary led to the evacuation of staff and nearby residents. Cheney Fire Department and emergency personnel responded to the incident around 10 a.m. after receiving a call from the Cheney School District.
"Someone at Salnave Elementary smelled the gas and based on the wind and the levels we were getting, we evacuated two blocks," Cheney Fire Chief Tom Jenkins said.
