Margaret Eileen (Longbottom) Showalter was born on Nov. 18, 1923, and was the middle child of Okanogan Valley homesteaders, Ben and Myrtle Longbottom. Eileen graduated from Okanogan High School and attended the Eastern Washington College of Education.

During her life, Eileen held many roles. She taught 4th grade and high school for 18 years, worked constantly on the family ranch, and drove long haul truck for six years with her husband, John.

She is survived by her son, David (Debi) Showalter, grandsons Ben (Kristen) Showalter, Matt (Tracy) Showalter, and Jesse Hughes, and granddaughter,...
