Patrick O’Brien Shea, 59, of Cheney, Wash., died of ALS (Lou Gehrig‘s disease) on Thursday, Feb. 24, 2022 at home surrounded by his family. Born in Spokane, Wash. to Donald and Sharon Shea, he grew up on the farm in Tyler, Wash., where he helped with cattle and haying.

Patrick attended Spokane Community College, graduating with a Degree in Invasive Cardiovascular Technology. His career was in Spokane in the cardiovascular field for 37 years starting in the EP Cath lab to Sales Rep for Boston Scientific. He had a passion for helping patients understand the care they needed.

Patrick enjoyed family time, BBQ, music, sports, classic cars and his Irish heritage. He played bass in the worship band at Cheney Church of the Nazarene and Feed Cheney. He built his own smoker and enjoyed BBQ competitions, catering for Church in the Park and other local events. He was a member of the Early Ford V8 Club and the Dukes, winning awards in several local car shows.

His faith in God was his priority and strove to be authentic, making friends wherever he went. Words he lived by in the last year “Choose Joy”, “Life’s too short to eat bad food” and “No White Flags”.

Survivors include his wife, Julie; two daughters, Kyra (Matthew) Allen, Katie (Christian) Ehrman; one son, Malcolm (Jolene) Shea; 5 grandchildren, Eawyn, Shayleigh, Macy, Lily and Finnan.

Celebration of Life will be held at 1 pm, March 19, 2022, at Cheney Church of the Nazarene, 338 Betz Road, Cheney, Wash.
