AIRWAY HEIGHTS — There will be a Veterans Day Cemetery Flag Placement and Wreath Laying observance at George White Cemetery at 9 a.m. Thursday.
Several local organizations will be attending, including members of the Airway Heights Veterans of Foreign Wars, Fairchild Air Force Base airmen, Girl Scouts of Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho, and local Boy Scouts.
Veterans from the Korean, Vietnam, Gulf and Iraq wars will be there, as well.
“Many of these kids are affiliated with the Fairchild Air Force Base,” retired Air Force Master Sgt. Debra Orlnelas.
Orlnelas is also the troop leader for Troop Nos. 1930 and 6008.
“Service members buried in the cemetery were community members and neighbors, parents, grandparents, and volunteers that serve the nation and our neighborhoods,” she said.
