MEDICAL LAKE — The first major fundraiser for Medical Lake Dollars for Scholars is being hailed as a success despite ongoing coronavirus concerns.
The event raised $9,500 to support graduating students, Medical Lake Dollars for Scholars President/Treasurer Steven Meltzer said Monday.
“Medical Lake Dollars for Scholars held its first major fundraiser this past weekend and had a great turnout from the community and surrounding area,” he said. “With people responding to beautiful weather, an outdoor event and pent up energy the Scholarship Super Yard Sale was a great success, raising almost $9,500 to support our students.
Meltzer thanked “all the very hard-working volunteers” as well as School District staff and the School Board.
He also thanked the community for the turnout and everyone “who came out and had a good time browsing through the mountains of stuff and found treasures to buy.”
