Spokane PD investigating Airway officer

AIRWAY HEIGHTS — An article in a recent edition of the Pacific Northwest Inlander has levied a variety of charges including domestic violence and sexual assault against Airway Heights police detective Curtis Tucker.

The 15-year veteran officer has been placed on administrative leave pending the conclusion of an investigation currently taking place by the Spokane Police Department.

Airway Heights Police Chief Brad Richmond referred to an April 8 press release when addressing the matter, saying the department received information “Regarding conduct by one of our officers.” On advice of attorneys nothing more could be said at this point.

The Inlander article spoke to allegations from a number of women, including two of Tucker’s ex-wives, who say they were victims of physical and sexual abuse and had loaded guns placed at their heads.

The article also states that the Airway Heights PD has never investigated the matter since first hearing of allegations made by Tucker’s ex-wife Heidi Starr in 2017 when she requested a domestic violence protection order.

Tucker, was, however, placed on suspension when the petition was filed. He was reinstated when the motion was later dismissed.

Another of Tucker’s ex-wives, who the Inlander said requested to only be identified by her middle name — Lynn — has court records that offer similar charges.

Interviewed by Inlander, Tucker denies all allegations, adding that “If he truly was a habitual domestic abuser, then surely someone would have reported it.”
