Roberta "Bobbi" Rako (1930-2021)

Roberta "Bobbi" Rako (Age 90) Roberta peacefully went to Heaven on Jan. 8, 2021, at her daughter's home in Cheney, Wash. with family and friends by her side. Misty her dog went ahead of her on Jan. 3, 2021.

Bobbi was born to Robert and Addie Lincoln on July 3, 1930, in Spokane, Wash., and was raised in Tekoa, Wash. She moved to Spokane, Wash. at the age of 15 and graduated from Lewis and Clark High School. Bobbi was one of the first women city lines bus drivers in Spokane and went on to be the only woman manager with Economy Gas Stations on East Trent and Airway Heights. She received an award for the most volume pumped at one location in 1968.

Bobbi and Delbert Rako were married in 1955 and she purchased and operated Bobbi's Economy on North Market and North Division. They sold the stations, Delbert retired from the Air Force and they purchased the Cedars Tavern downtown Spokane. For 35 years they owned and operated the Lariat Tavern in Mead, Wash. Bobbi and Del worked hard and played hard. Delbert passed away on Nov. 26, 2010, and Bobbi adjusted and truly enjoyed her life, family and friends.

Bobbi is survived by daughters; Janette Belsby of Cheney, Wash. and Adell (Rick) Fuson of Vancouver, Wash. Grandchildren; Marvin and Christopher Anderson, Jayson, Jessica, Matthew, and Kaylee Fusion. Also Briana, Blake, Wyatt, Adelynn and Jade all of Vancouver, Wash.

A visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 29, from 2-4 p.m. at Cheney Funeral Chapel. A Life Celebration will be held on Saturday, Jan. 30, at 11 a.m. A reception will follow at The Northern Quest RV Clubhouse from 1-3 p.m., 100 N. Hayford Road in Airway Heights, Wash.

There will be a private burial for Bobbi, and she will be laid to rest with her beloved husband at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake, Wash.
