MEDICAL LAKE – Travelers who use Interstate 90 and the Medical Lake/SR 902 interchange will need to plan additional time to prevent delays.

Crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will be closing different portions of Interstate 90 and the eastbound off-ramp as work continues on construction for the new overpass and roundabout at the southern intersection.

Starting Monday, Aug. 3 through Wednesday, Aug. 5, crews will be closing one eastbound lane of I-90 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. to continue work on the eastbound off-ramp connection. The eastbound off-ramp to Medical Lake/SR 902 interchange will remain open.

Beginning Friday, Aug. 7, at 7 p.m., crews will be closing the I-90 eastbound off-ramp to the Medical Lake/SR 902 interchange. The closure will last through the weekend and reopen at 5 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 10. Eastbound I-90 travelers needing to use the Medical Lake/SR 902 interchange will be detoured off the interstate at exit 270, Four Lakes interchange, and north on Craig Road to SR 902.

During the full ramp closure, drivers can also expect nightly lane closures of eastbound I-90 within the project limits.

9 p.m., Friday, August 7, to 5 a.m. Saturday

9 p.m., Saturday, August 8 to 10 a.m. Sunday

9 p.m., Sunday, August 9 to 10 a.m. Monday

The closure is part of the SR 902/Medical Lake interchange improvement project which includes the construction of the parallel bridge over I-90.

Continuing is the reduced speed limit on I-90 between MP 272.30 and 273.35 within the limits of the construction work zone. The reduced speed limit is enforceable with fines doubling within the work zone. The speed reduction will continue through project completion.
