The sudden death of a 74-year-old female was reported on the 2200 block of North 6th Street.

Steven J. Baum, 37, was arrested on a Cheney Municipal Court warrant for fourth-degree assault/domestic violence on the 1300 block of Gary Street.

Medications were found on the 600 block of Irene Place.

Jan. 16

Ivan J. Ahenakew, 18, was arrested for third-degree theft/shoplifting and minor in possession of alcohol on the zero hundred block of Cheney-Spokane Road.

A 16-year-old male was arrested for fourth-degree assault on the 400 block of North 6th Street.

Indecent liberties were reported on the 12400 block of Andrus Road.

An animal call/dog bite was reported on the 1000 block of Betz Road.

An animal call/dog bite was reported on the 1200 block of 2nd Street.

Kalani J. Gant, 46, was arrested for fourth-degree assault/domestic violence on the 1000 block of Betz Road.

Jan. 17

A mental health issue was reported on the 300 block of I Street. Subject was involuntarily committed.

Keili B. Garrison, 32, was arrested on Spokane County felony warrants for taking motor vehicle without owner’s permission and possession of a controlled substance/methamphetamine on the 1100 block of 1st Street.

Jan. 18

Brenda L. Bales, 54, was arrested for driving under the influence (DUI) on the 2200 block of 1st Street.

A wallet was found somewhere in Cheney.

Violation of a court order, residential burglary and harassment – threats to kill were reported on the 700 block of West 1st Street.

Jan. 19

Police assisted Washington State Patrol with a DUI arrest on the 1300 block of 1st Street.

Jan. 20

A 15-year-old female was reported as a runaway juvenile on the 1600 block of 4th Street. The female returned home later in the night.

Jeremy C. James, 18, was arrested for second-degree burglary and third-degree theft/shoplifting of liquor on the 2700 block of 1st Street.
