Spokane Casino event series heats up June 1

The first day of summer might not technically be until June 21, but the Spokane Tribe Casino in Airway Heights is welcoming it just a little earlier with a backyard event series and monthly events planned for June, July, August and September.

The Backyard Event Series will feature weekly activities like outdoor movie nights and barbecue. Once a month, the casino will host “Party on the Patio,” co-sponsored by the Inlander.

The series kicks off on June 1 with “Spring Fling,” a family-friendly afternoon of free activities including wet and dry bounce houses, lawn game, face painters, food and two live local bands. According to a press release, the festivities will be held in the Three Peaks Backyard on the west side of the Casino.

“Summer is one season that we can truly ‘cash in’ on the beauty of Spokane, not to mention the extended daylight hours,” Spokane Tribe Casino General Manager Javier de la Rosa said in a statement. “We’re excited to welcome everyone into the backyard for a summer of sun and fun for the entire family.”

The Spring Fling will run from noon- 6 p.m. followed by the first weekly outdoor movie night on Sunday, June 2 at dusk. Party on the Patio is scheduled for June 13.
