Cheney blood drive Oct. 26

The Inland Northwest Blood Center together with Cheney community volunteers led by coordinator Duane Isaac will hold a blood drive on Friday, Oct. 26, from 1:30 – 5 p.m. at the Marketplace Bakery & Eatery on First Street in Cheney.

INBC needs an average of 200 blood donors every day to meet the needs of more than 35 hospitals in the Inland Northwest. A single donation can save the lives of up to three people.

Medical Lake holds special meeting on sign changes

The city of Medical Lake Planning Commission will hold a public hearing at 5 p.m. on Oct. 23 in the City Council chambers at City Hall, 124 S. Lefevre St. to receive public comment on proposed changes to Chapter 17.39 Signs of the Medical Lake Municipal Code. Questions should be directed to City Administrator Doug Ross at (509) 565-5000.

StageWest holds ‘It’s A Wonderful Life’ auditions

StageWest Community Theatre is holding open auditions for their Reader’s Theatre production of the Lux Radio Theatre Production of “It’s A Wonderful Life” on Friday, Oct. 19, at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 20, at 10 a.m.

Auditions are at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 639 Elm St. in Cheney. Rehearsals start soon and performances will be Dec. 7-9, and 14-16 in Cheney.

West Plains Arts presents ‘The Headless Horseman’

West Plains Arts Academy Community Theater will be performing “The Headless Horseman” in Cheney and in Medical Lake. A donation is all that is needed for admission, with donations taken at the door. Please come and bring your family and friends and enjoy this traditional Halloween tale.

There will be six performances: Cheney Middle School Oct. 19-21 and Medical Lake High School Oct. 26-28. Friday performances (Oct. 19 and 26) are at 7 p.m., with Saturday’s featuring a 3 p.m. matinee and a 7 p.m. show. Performances on Sundays (Oct. 21 and 28) are at 3 p.m.
