Animal rescue fundraiser looms May 2

AIRWAY HEIGHTS — the annual Humane Evacuation and Animal Rescue Team will host its annual fundraiser May 2 at the Shriner’s Event Center.

The event takes place from 5:30-9 p.m. in the Fireside Room. It’s open to adults over the age of 21.

Funds raised at the event benefit the organization’s efforts to help animals displaced by natural disasters, such as wildfires, or those seized by law enforcement responding to cruelty and neglect cases involving puppy mills and more. Additionally, the organization hopes to purchase a cargo trailer for operations and storage of equipment.

This year, several items are up for grabs in both live and silent auctions. Some of those items include an autographed Gonzaga men’s basketball, Gonzaga men’s basketball tickets, a hotel stay, tickets for the Best of Broadway series performance of Frozen, wine tasting, golf and more.

The emcee of this year’s event will be Laura Papetti.

Adult beverages and a buffet will be available at the fundraiser.
