Constance Schroeder

Constance Schroeder, 96, died at Fairfield Care on Mother's Day, May 13. Her son, Ron Schroeder and daughter, Shelley Egan, were with her.

Born in Rockford, Wash., the family farmed in the area until 1940 when they moved to Cheney. Constance graduated from Eastern Washington University, married the farmer's son from across the road, and went on to become a teacher and school librarian. Her favorite job was an author, writing four books and numerous stories. Her brother E. Reade Brown lives on the family farm surrounded by nieces and nephews. She's also survived by eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
