Cheney’s City Council unanimously agreed to surplus a small parcel of land owned by the Street Division along First Street just east of Spokane Transit Authority’s K Street Station, but not without some questions regarding its price and condition.
Public Works Director Todd Ableman told the council the half-block parcel was part of a larger piece that was sold to STA for the transfer station. The property served as the location of the city street/shop maintenance building prior to construction of the current facility on Anderson Road in the early 1970s.
