Lisle Ewart Dare

Lisle Dare, 91, of Cheney, Wash. passed away on Aug. 3, 2017. Lisle was born in Spokane, Wash. on Nov. 5, 1925. He was the eldest child of Ewart H. Dare and Bessie S. Toycen (Dare). They lived in Amber, Wash., where Lisle started school. They moved to Cheney in 1935 where the Dares farmed and raised cattle. Lisle graduated from Cheney High School in 1943.

Lisle was drafted into the Army at age 19 and trained at Ft. Lewis, Wash. He went to France as a lineman in the Fighting 69th Division during the Battle of the Bulge, and was discharged in 1946. He returned home to farm, and learned to be a b...
