Emmanuel Lutheran Church

The congregation of Emmanuel Lutheran Church invites you to worship at 10:30 a.m. this Sunday, Feb. 12. You may also watch our pastor’s sermons at our website or on YouTube at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Cheney. Christian education for grade school through adults begins at 9 a.m.

Mark your calendars for Emmanuel’s eighth annual “Festival of Chocolate” on Fat Tuesday, Feb. 28 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. A monetary donation will be collected at the door. All monies collected go to our “Vacation Bible School Day Camp” fund. Please plan to attend this delicious event.

Ash Wednesday worship service will be March 1 at 7 p.m.

All are welcome to visit Emmanuel’s Little Free Library and Free Community Pantry located at 639 Elm St. Donations of books, personal care items and non-perishable food items are gladly accepted. Both are open to the community 24/7.

Four Lakes Community Church

We are a non-denominational Village Missions Church. We exist to exalt the Lord, to educate and edify the saints and evangelize the lost. Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m. and the worship service is at 10:45 a.m. All are welcome.

Sunday’s sermon is entitled “Paying Attention to the Power of the Scriptures” by pastor Sean Carney. Our worship services combine contemporary choruses and traditional hymns.

Join us for a ladies Bible study every other Tuesday at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday music practice at 6:30 p.m., Thursday AWANA at 6:30 p.m. and Friday men’s breakfast and Bible study at 7 a.m.Feb. 19 will be our annual meeting, potluck and valentine activity.

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church

United Methodist Church

Sunday morning worship is at 10 a.m. at the United Methodist Church. Pastor Alissa Bertsch Johnson and associate pastor Pat Sleeth will continue a new sermon series based on the Psalms. The service will include the celebration of Holy Communion. At 9 a.m. there is a multi-age Sunday school class for elementary school children. A grief support group also meets during the Sunday school hour using the book, “Hearing Jesus Speak into Your Sorrow” by Nancy Guthrie.

Because our worship service was canceled last Sunday, the congregation will have the opportunity to donate to the “Souper Bowl of Caring” this Sunday. Proceeds from the UMC’s collection will support Feed Cheney.

Sunday evening, there will be a talent show and potluck at the church. This is the return of “Methodists Got Talent” in conjunction with our monthly adult fellowship. Join in the fun beginning at 6 p.m.
