Annis June Stevenson

Annis June Stevenson was born Jan. 5, 1936 in Kingston, Jamaica. She lived and worked in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada where she met and later married James Stevenson. They were married 53 years until her passing on Sept. 17, 2016.

They were stationed at Fairchild Air Force Base and years later settled in nearby Medical Lake. She worked at the Fairchild Bowling Lanes until her retirement and then worked at food services for Eastern Washington University.

While at EWU, she prepared meals for coach Mike Holmgren and the Seattle Seahawks during summer training camps where she developed many special friendships with the staff and most notably the players.

She was active in the community and in her childrens' lives. She was a former den mother of the Boy Scouts of America, and later, actively involved in Washington Special Olympics for over 35 years.

She will be remembered as an amazing, loving, caring, supportive and nurturing mother, a devoted and loyal wife; and most definitely, a thoughtful, generous, resilient, gracious, irresistible, funny, elegant and classic beauty.

She enjoyed a good cup of tea in the morning, loved to bake cookies for friends, and enjoyed hosting holiday dinners for military folks. She enjoyed trips to Jamaica and Ocean Shores, Wash., and especially loved to laugh with her kids.

She is survived and terribly missed by her husband James Stevenson, her sister Cauleen Williams and children, Butch, Donna, Ian, Jacqueline, Kim and Geoff.

Services to be held at Lake City Assembly of God Church, Medical Lake on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 11 a.m.
