StageWest season opens with a "Charitable" comedy

StageWest presents Bo Wilson's play "The Charitable Sisterhood of the Second Trinity Victory Church," produced by special arrangement with The Dramatic Publishing Company, Inc. of Woodstock, Ill.

Come on down and see how the Charitable Sisterhood are doing in their attempt at holding their fourth relief effort of the year. This time it is for the homeless Guatemalans. But because of the torrential rainfall, the bridges being washed out, and less generous souls wanting to venture out, it is up to four dedicated ladies of the church to go through the mountain of donations to get everything in order and ready to go.

What "treasures" do the ladies find in that pile of stuff? One woman's junk just might be another woman's treasure, and these ladies truly find out that sometimes charity does begin at home.

Performances are Fridays Sept. 30 and Oct. 7 and 14 at 7 p.m., Saturdays Oct. 1 and 8 at 7 p.m. and Sunday matinees Oct. 2 and 9 at 3 p.m.

A special dinner theater takes place Saturday Oct. 15 at 6 p.m. Dinner is catered by Mike Hartman and is by reservations only. Reservations must be made by Oct. 12.

Ticket prices are adults $12, seniors $10, students with valid school ID $5 and dinner theatre is $30 per person. All performances are at Emmanuel Lutheran Church 639 Elm St. in Cheney.
