CHENEY

Aug. 29

Third-degree malicious mischief was reported on the 2700 block of First Street. A car was keyed.

Aug. 30

Police responded to reports of a car prowler in the 200 block of Simpson Parkway. A suspect was confronted and he then ran into nearby woods where he was eventually apprehended. Police arrested Samuel A. Clopton, 35, for second-degree theft.

Suspicious circumstances were reported on the 1000 block of Betz Road. A man called and reported that $2,460 had been deposited into his checking account from an unknown source.

Second-degree theft was reported on the 200 block of Gregory Drive. A campaign sign was taken.

Aug. 31

Harassment was reported on the 500 block of Short Street. The victim reported receiving a telephone call from a Sgt. Kendall Brown at the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office telling him he had missed a court date and needed to make an immediate payment or have a warrant issued for his arrest.

Residential burglary was reported on the 100 block of North Eighth Street. The victim was at home when a man entered, took keys to the victim’s Dodge Ram 2500 pickup truck parked in the driveway off the kitchen counter and proceeded to drive off in the truck.

Third-degree theft was reported on the 400 block of First Street. Shoes and a pack of Marlboro cigarettes were taken from a vehicle.

A Springfield Savage 20-gauge sawed-off shotgun was found in a commercial waste bin on the 800 block of West First Street.

Sept. 1

Third-degree theft was reported on the 2700 block of First Street. Alcohol was taken.

Marijuana was confiscated from a 12-year-old male at Westwood Middle School. The incident has been referred to the county juvenile prosecutor for possible charges.

Taking motor vehicle without owner’s permission was reported on the 300 block of Erie Street. A Honda Accord was taken and later recovered in downtown Spokane on Sept. 2.

A mental health issue was reported on the 700 block of First Street. The individual was voluntarily committed.

Third-degree theft was reported on the 1400 block of Washington Road. A construction sign was stolen from a vehicle.

Leonard J. Woodard, 20, was arrested for third-degree driving while license suspended (DWLS) on the 2800 block of North Sixth Street.

Sept. 2

Heidi M. Hill, 40, was arrested for third-degree DWLS on the 600 block of Second Street.

Possession of controlled substance was reported on the 200 block of Nolan Brown Place.

Domestic violence/verbal dispute was reported on the 100 block of College Hill Street.

A 17-year-old male was arrested on a warrant for possession of a controlled substance on the 2700 block of First Street. Possible charges of third-degree theft are pending.

Domestic violence/verbal dispute was reported on the 1000 block of First Street.

Sept. 4

Domestic violence/verbal dispute was reported on the 700 block of First Street.

Taking motor vehicle without owner’s permission was reported on the 1100 block of First Street. A 2016 Red Impala was taken and later recovered in Spokane.

Sept. 5

Third-degree malicious mischief was reported on the 1300 block of Third Street. A vehicle window was broken.

Jaime B. Fimbres, 48, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance/methamphetamine on the 2300 block of University Lane.

Vehicle theft was reported on the 800 block of West Maple Street.

Aug. 31

Domestic violence/verbal dispute was reported on the 1600 block of South Russell Street.

Ashley D. Isgrig, 28, was arrested on the 11800 block of West Centre Lane for prostitution. At the scene, Benjamin N. Helms, 35, was arrested for patronizing a prostitute.

William D. Gabbard, 39, was arrested at 13th Avenue and Campbell Street for possession of a dangerous weapon.

Sept. 1

Paul W. Hall, 31, was arrested on the 1800 block of South Lawson Street for a domestic violence protection order violation.

Vehicle prowling was reported on the 10200 block of West 10th Avenue.

A stolen vehicle was recovered on the 10600 block of West 12th Avenue.

Officers assisted an agency on a warrant arrest at Highway 2 and West Drive.

A traffic accident with damages was reported at Highway 2 and Ziegler Street.

Sept. 2

Jeffery R. Irmer, 29, was arrested on the 1600 block of South Deer Heights Road for fourth-degree assault/domestic violence.

A traffic accident with damages was reported at Highway 2 and Hayford Road.

Third-degree theft was reported on the 10600 block of West 12th Avenue.

Vehicle prowling was reported on the 800 block of South Salish Court.

A traffic accident with damages was reported at Highway 2 and Hayford Road.

Felix W. Cruz, 51, was arrested at Hayford Road and Highway 2 for third-degree DWLS.

Sept. 3

A traffic accident with damages was reported at Highway 2 and Hayford Road.

Robert S. Williams, 45, was arrested at Highway 2 and Lyons Street on a warrant for failure to appear in court for unpaid tickets.

Joshua A. Brown, 33, was arrested at Highway 2 and Lyons Street on a warrant for criminal trespassing.

Vehicle prowling was reported on the 10600 block of West 12th Avenue.

Sept. 4

Michael L. Royse, 33, was arrested on the 1200 block of South Hayford Road for possession of a controlled substance/heroin, possession of a stolen motor vehicle and on a warrant for failure to appear for a possession of a controlled substance charge.

Kassandra F. Sampson, 26, was arrested on the 1200 block of South Hayford Road on a warrant for failure to appear on a possession of a controlled substance charge.

Peter J. Wasson, 21, and Ginny L. Hasting, 53, were arrested on the 1400 block of South Albert Street for fourth-degree assault/domestic violence.

Michael A. Spencer, 49, was arrested at Highway 2 and Russell Street for possession of a controlled substance/methamphetamine.

Thomas M. Colwell, 53, was arrested at Highway 2 and Russell Street for third-degree DWLS.

Sept. 5

Joshua M. Nelson, 27, was arrested on the 12500 block of West Highway 2 for fourth-degree assault/domestic violence.

First-degree theft was reported on the 12800 block of West First Avenue.

Vehicle prowling was reported on the 10600 block of West 12th Avenue.

A suicidal subject was reported on the 600 block of South Lawson Street.
